Jr. Buyer

Dynamis seeks a Junior Buyer to support the Business Operations team at corporate headquarters in Fairfax, VA. The Junior Buyer will be responsible for processing purchases of labor, materials, supplies, and equipment on approved requisitions for supplies required to support Office and Business Operations.


  • Obtains price quotations; negotiates and administers assigned contracts/Purchase Orders to include necessary price/cost analyses, when applicable. 
  • Responsible for maintaining approved Vendor source files and records. 
  • Responsible for maintaining effective Purchase Order files and initiates appropriate follow-up actions as necessary to ensure timely and correct receipt of items purchased. 
  • Advises Procurement Manager in a timely fashion on all purchasing challenges incurred that negatively impacts order processing, and our ability to get orders processed on time. 
  • Reconciles subcontractor labor invoices on contracts with entries into Dynamis’ timekeeping system and interacts with other business operations staff to ensure that timely submission of invoices to Dynamis’ customers occurs based on these reconciliations. 
  • Consistently processes purchases in accordance with FAR/DFAR regulations and Corporate’s Acquisitions Policies and Procedures Manual (APPM). 
  • Creates and manages Excel reports, as required. 
  • Competency in choosing reliable and competitive vendors.

  • U.S. Citizenship
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or High School plus 4 years of experience required)
    • Bachelor’s Degree in business/accounting preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications, including but not limited to Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook. 
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel skills required (ability to create and/or modify spreadsheets using formulas, validation tables, pivot tables, data manipulation, etc.).
  • Proficient database skills to prepare detailed correspondence, reports, forms, statistical, and technical materials with accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multi-task and frequently adjust priorities
  • Ability to work and successfully manage workload with minimal supervision
  • Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations
  • Ability to pass a background check
